Grilled Filet Mignon Steaks
With Fresh Herb & Garlic Rub

"Great with roasted red potatoes and simple steamed broccoli florets."

Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons bottled minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh thyme
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 (4-ounce) beef tenderloin steaks, trimmed (1 inch thick)
  • Cooking spray of your choice


Directions
 
  1. Prepare grill.
  2. Combine first 6 ingredients into a bowl, mix and combine together and rub evenly over steaks
  3. Place steaks on grill racks coated with cooking spray
  4. Reduce grill heat to medium. Grill steaks 6 to 8 minutes per side depending on your desired degree of doneness.
  5. Remove steaks when when done and let stand a few minutes before serving

Final Beef Temperatures:


Rare: Very red, warm center 125 to 130 degrees.
Medium: Pink, warm center 135 to 140 degrees.
Well: Pink, very warm center 140 to 145 degrees and above.
